MUMBAI – Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut returned to her home in Himachal Pradesh on Monday from Mumbai with “a heavy heart,” but continued tweeting about her verbal wars with the Shiv Sena.

She returned to Mumbai last week after the municipal corporation partially demolished a property of hers in posh Pali Hill area, claiming that it was done illegally and violating civic norms. Accompanied by a large group of journalists from Chandigarh, who were with her on the flight to Mumbai, the actress grabbed media headlines for a few days, engaging in a bitter war with the Shiv Sena.

However, on Monday she decided to return to Himachal Pradesh. “With a heavy heart leaving Mumbai, the way I was terrorised all these days constant attacks and abuses hurled at me attempts to break my house after my work place, alert security with lethal weapons around me, must say my analogy about POK was bang on,” the actress tweeted on her way to the airport.

She later tweeted that people were greeting her with joy on landing at Chandigarh airport and her security had also been reduced. “It seems this time I was saved. There was a time when I felt a mother’s touch in Mumbai, but today the situation is such that I am lucky to be alive. The moment Shiv Sena became Sonia Sena, the Mumbai administration became a terror,” she tweeted.

Originally from Himachal Pradesh, her family has been closely associated with the Congress party in the state. Her great-grandfather was a party leader. But her mother recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for providing security to her daughter. Other BJP leaders including many from Himachal Pradesh have also been backing her and promising full security in the state.

Though her family is originally from Mandi district in the state, Kangana has a home in Manali hill station. Her brief visit to Mumbai, which was her home for several years after her success in Bollywood, was marked with meetings with the state’s governor and other senior leaders.
