Clarion India believes that transparency and accountability are fundamental to ethical journalism. When we make a factual mistake, we correct it promptly, unreservedly, and visibly.
Correction Framework
Our corrections protocol follows clear, established newsroom standards:
- Factual Corrections: If an article contains a factual inaccuracy (such as an incorrect date, name, number, legal status, or sequence of events), we update the text and append an explicit correction note at the bottom of the article specifying what was inaccurate, what was corrected, and the timestamp of the amendment.
- Clarifications: If phrasing was unclear, incomplete, or open to misinterpretation without being factually false, we clarify the passage and note that the piece was updated for clarity.
- Retractions: In the rare event that an article fails fundamentally to meet verification standards, it is retracted with an editor’s note detailing the reasons for retraction.
