Samajwadi Party Workers Stage Protests Against Yogi Govt

In Prayagraj, Kannauj, Banda, Ghazipur, Aligarh and Varanasi, the police had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the mob and several SP workers were reportedly injured.

LUCKNOW — The Samajwadi Party, on Monday, held demonstrations across all districts to protest against the plight of farmers, growing unemployment, expensive education, privatisation, corruption and multiple other issues.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) workers chanted slogans against the government and gathered at the district collectorate offices. They submitted memorandums at the office of the District Magistrates.

In Prayagraj, Kannauj, Banda, Ghazipur, Aligarh and Varanasi, the police had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the mob and several SP workers were reportedly injured.

In some districts, party workers staged dharna to register their protest.

Interestingly, the SP protesters were seen flouting social distancing norms during their protests.
