NEW DELHI – Expressing concern over the open threat of Hindutva activists kill Muslims, Maulana Mahmood A. Madani, the President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind,  on Thursday slammed the government for turning a blind eye to the development.

Maulana Madani was referring to A three-day hate speech conclave organised by the controversial Hindutva leader Yati Narsinghanand from 17 to 19 December in Haridwar, where multiple calls to kill minorities and attack their religious spaces were made.

The maulana noted that this is not the first time a call for genocide against the minority community was made by the Hindutva hate mongers. The fringe elements, he said, deliver such hate speeches with regular intervals.

In a letter addressed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttarakhand Chief Minister, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and National Commission for Minorities (NCM), the JUH president demanded action against the culprits. The authorities, he said, should take suo moto cognizance of the matter and prosecute the perpetrators under stringent laws.

“They have posed threat to peace and communal harmony of the country. I demand strong action against the organisers of the conclave and the speakers,” he said.

In his letter, Maulana Madani noted that “the event organised in Haridwar, Uttarakhand was called as ‘Dharam Sansad’ while the theme of the event was mischievously named as “The Future of Sanatan dharma in Islamic India: Problems and Solutions.”

The chief patron of the event was Yati Narsginhanand, who is accused of making hate speeches in the past on several occasions. Many of the speakers at the event including Yati Narsighanand delivered outrageous hate speeches. Open call for genocide of Muslims was a recurring theme of the event. Equipping of entire Hindu community with firearms was stressed to wage war against the minorities.

The maulana cited the following outrageous statements of the speakers in his letter

(a)    Yati Nasinghnand Saraswati: “If anybody is ready to become Prabhakaran (deceased chief of the deadly terrorist organisation LTTE) of Hindus, I will be the first donate him one crore rupees and can raise hundred crore for the cause. Every Hindu temple needs a Prabhakaran, a Bhindarwale.”

(b)   Swami Anandaswaroop: “Christmas and Eid will not be celebrated here, Haridwar. No hotel owner should dare to do so.”

(c)    Annapurna Maa: “If 100 Hindus build an army and kill two million Muslims, then it could be declared victory of Hindus. We must be ready to kill and get killed. This is an alarming situation.”

(d)   Swami Amritanand: “Each Hindu must spend a good amount to raise better weapons. Every Hindu house must have a sharp edged sword.”

(e)    Awami Dharam Das Maharaj: “If I were a parliamentarian and had a gun, I would have pumped all six bullets in the chest of Manmohan Singh, former prime minister of India.”

(f)    Awami Prabodhanand: “Like in Myanmar, here too (India), Army, police, leaders and each Indian citizen must join this cleansing campaign to root out them (Muslims). Get prepared and discuss preparations to do the same.”
