NEW DELHI (IANS) — Quoting RBI figures, the Congress on Sunday said the Modi government has been exposed as 72.8 per cent people said income increased by zero per cent and 79.2 per cent said inflation has crushed them.

“RBI (Reserve Bank of India) survey exposes Modi government’s ‘Dhol Ki Poll’,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted.

According to him, 72.8 per cent people said that the income increased by zero per cent and in fact it decreased.

“79.2 per cent said that inflation broke their back. 68.5 per cent believe that the employment situation is bad and 68.1 per cent said financial condition is worrisome,” he added, attaching a Hindi news report.

Surjewala took a poetic dig at the BJP, saying: “Bhajpaiyo ke acche din, janta maange beete din” (BJP promised ‘good days’, but people are clamouring for earlier days).”
