JAIPUR – Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Telangana T Raja Singh once again made Islamophobic remarks in Rajasthan, calling for the economic boycott of Muslims and suggesting the idea of picking up 10 women if a Pakistani targets Hindu women.
Singh, who is facing multiple cases for making inflammatory comments, continues to evade arrest despite frequently targeting the Muslim community through hate speeches.
In a recent video, he verbally abused AIMIM legislators and discussed the possibility of killing people through encounters. Hindutva Watch, a research initiative which monitors hate crimes in India, has shared the video on Twitter. Furthermore, prominent fact-checker Mohammed Zubair also shared video clips and sought to know whether the Rajasthan government would file a First Information Report (FIR) against Singh. He also reminded that the Supreme Court has instructed to take suo moto cognizance of hate speeches.
In his hate speeches, Singh addressed Muslims as “landya”, “Mulla” and “Pakistan ki Najayaz Aulad”.
“If any Pakistani takes away our one woman, we should take away their 10 women. This is not only for Pakistani mullahs. You can understand where I’m pointing to,” said Singh, underscoring that it is “an assignment being given to them (the audience)”. He said that he would wholeheartedly support those people who take away women from Pakistan.
He also urged people not to buy anything from Muslims but do it from only Hindus. He claimed that giving Muslims a single rupee could be a cause of the annihilation of Hindus.
He flagged Hindutva concern of the elusive ‘Love Jihad’, claiming that Muslims have a predetermined rate for luring women from different castes and religions. Singh also expressed shame in attending Telangana Vidhan Sabha due to the presence of Asaduddin Owaisi, Akbaruddin Owaisi, whom Siingh referred to as “Owaisi ka cchota k**ta”. He wished to beat up AIMIM legislators.
He accused Muslims of India of singing hymns for Pakistan while living in India. “These illegitimate progenies of Pakistan should be identified. No arrest, No FIR, they should be killed in an encounter,” he said publicly, fearlessly.
Reacting to his hate speeches, journalist Kaushi Raj said: “There is not a single week when MLA T Raja Singh does not give hate speech against Muslims in front of a large gathering. Is there no agency in India which can arrest him? Raj also took to social media, tagging Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and calling for action against Singh.
An X user Chandan Kumar said that Singh has completely been infected with communalism, attributing this as the root cause to harm the country. “These hatemongers have no fear of law and order. Perhaps, he is receiving support from the higher ups,” said Kumar.
Responding to the video, Bilwara police said that it has directed to take appropriate action in the matter.
