The Nashik SIT chief has confirmed the case against the former MP, while Jaleel had earlier denied any role in providing shelter to the main accused
NASHIK — Police have registered a case against All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader and former MP Imtiaz Jaleel for allegedly providing shelter to Nida Khan, a key accused in the Nashik TCS sexual harassment and alleged religious conversion case.
According to an India Today report, the head of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case confirmed that the case has been registered against Jaleel, who has not issued any fresh response to the latest development.
His name had earlier surfaced during the investigation into the alleged shelter provided to Khan. At the time, Jaleel rejected the allegations, calling them baseless and denying any involvement in helping her.
The latest development follows the questioning of MIM’s former corporator Mateen Patel in connection with the case. During the police investigation, Patel reportedly referred to Jaleel, saying, “I will have to ask Imtiaz Jaleel Sahib.”
The reference came during the investigation into a 3,500-page charge sheet filed in June 2026, according to the supplied report.
Khan had been absconding after a court rejected her anticipatory bail application. Police subsequently arrested her from the Naregaon area of Aurangabad, now known as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The case relates to allegations of sexual harassment, mental harassment and pressure to convert to Islam at a TCS unit in Nashik. Several women employees reportedly accused colleagues and officials of subjecting them to harassment and pressuring them to adopt Islam.
The complaints also included allegations of stalking, sending inappropriate messages through social media and pressuring women to change their food habits.
The matter initially came to light through complaints registered at the Deolali Camp police station in Nashik. During the investigation, the names of several individuals, including Danish Shaikh, Tausif Attar and Nida Khan, emerged.
Following the complaints, a Special Investigation Team was formed to investigate the allegations. The SIT has since filed two charge sheets in the case.
The charge sheets reportedly contain claims concerning an alleged plan to convert women employees to Islam, based on statements given by the complainants.
One of the women alleged that there was a plan to convert her, give her a new identity and conceal the matter from her family.
The latest case against Jaleel concerns the allegation that he provided shelter to Khan. His earlier denial of involvement remains part of the public record, while his response to the registration of the fresh case has not been reported.
