NAVI MUMBAI — “Kill all the Muslims, make India a better place,” was the slogan raised at Hindu Jan Aakrosh Morcha rally held in Vashi in Navi Mumbai on February 26, 2023.

During the rally, open calls were given for the Muslim genocide and the economic boycott of the Muslim community.

The Hindutva mob marched for about 3 km from Vashi’s Blue Diamond Chowk to Shivaji Chowk in which many BJP leaders including Ganesh Naik MLA took part.

In the rally from 4-year-old to 60-year old was seen carrying anti-Muslim placards. One of the placards read; ‘Abdul, Aslam ki kya pehchaan, Ladki bakri ek saman.”

Those who took part in the rally claimed that they were protesting against the growing incidence of ‘love jihad’ and ‘land jihad’ in the country.

Kajal Shingla a Gujarati Hindutva firebrand said; “Here, land jihad has become so prevalent that today at least 25 Bangladeshi Muslims live in one room. They have hijacked our vegetable markets. I want you to repeat after me that – we, the people of Maharashtra, will economically boycott them.”

The rally was organised by Sakal Hindu Samaj, a collective of Hindutva militant groups including Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. This is the third Hindutva gathering organised by Sakal Hindu Samaj in a month in Mumbai.

Interestingly, the rally was held after the Supreme Court directives that ‘no hate speech’ would be made during the Hindu religious gathering.

Police have acknowledged the rally was taken out to target the Muslim community.  Navi Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone I), Vivek Pansare said; “There were utterances at the rally which we think may come under the hate speech. We will scrutinise the recording and assess if it can be categorised as such,” he said.

The award winning journalist Rana Ayyub who was in town during rally, shared an emotional note on Twitter.
