GAZA – Another heart-wrenching news of the death of a one-day-old baby in war-torn Gaza is making netizens bleed blood.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and local journalists on the ground, a one-day-old baby has been killed by Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Sunday.

It’s being reported that the one-day-old baby, Udayy Abu Mohsen, was killed before his birth certificate was issued.

Authorities issued baby Mohsen’s death certificate instead.

“This is Udayy Abu Mohsen. He was only one day old! He was killed in an Israeli airstrike which targeted his home in #Gaza,” wrote one user on X platform.

Another user wrote on X, “Only in Gaza, where one is issued a death certificate before a birth certificate was issued.”

The total death toll in Gaza rose to 8,005 people and 20,242 others injured, according to the official spokesperson for the health ministry in Gaza on Sunday.

The dead include 3,324 children, 2,062 women and 460 among the elderly, the spokesperson said.

International media and accredited social media accounts have been sharing harrowing details of Israeli ground operation and airstrikes at night.

The head of the World Health Organisation said they managed to communicate with the agency’s team in Gaza after internet and phone connectivity in the enclave were gradually restored.

“They said the last two nights were extremely tense with a lot of airstrikes – without fuel, water, electricity, connectivity and safe shelter to evacuate to,” Tedros Adhanom wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

He added that the WHO team, like others in Gaza, remain unsafe and called for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire.

WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic said the agency has 30 employees in Gaza.
