SHAJAPUR – As the days leading to the Ram Mandir inauguration draw near, distressing reports are emerging from different parts of the country. Hindutva fanatics are reportedly attempting to sow tension with targeted attacks on the minority Muslim community.

In a recent incident from Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, a disheartening narrative unfolds.

Muslim houses were allegedly demolished unilaterally, with locals contending that the operation displayed clear bias, specifically targeting the Muslim community. The incident unfolded discreetly, and the affected community asserts that no action has been taken against any Hindu individual, and no FIR has been filed against them.

The recent episode transpired in Shajapur district, where the administration, accompanied by a substantial police force, purportedly bulldozed the residence of Rahim Patel. He was accused of masterminding a stone-pelting incident during the Ram Shyam Yatra religious kirtan at the district headquarters.

According to reports, the administration executed the demolition without a prior hearing or legal procedure. A case has been registered against 25 named Muslims and 20 unknown individuals in connection with the incident, raising concerns about the one-sided nature of the operation.

Aftab Ali, a local correspondent, described the incident, stating that people were in tears, claiming innocence, and asserting that they were unfairly punished solely based on their Muslim identity.

CCTV footage obtained by Clarion India depicts pilgrims passing through the Muslim area, pelting stones, and engaging in aggressive behavior. Local residents argue that the attack on Muslims was premeditated, with the Muslim community deliberately targeted, resulting in the destruction of their homes.

While acknowledging the importance of holding those responsible accountable, locals emphasize the need for a fair and transparent trial and investigation. They express concerns that such unilateral actions without due process pose a threat to the stability of the country. As the situation unfolds, many are calling for a thorough examination of the incident and a commitment to justice for all communities involved.
