BARABANKI – A new twist has emerged in the controversial case involving the circumcision of a Hindu boy in Barabanki district. Three Muslim men had been accused of forcibly converting the boy to Islam and performing circumcision on him. However, a viral video has surfaced, wherein the boy is heard clarifying that the procedure was not done under duress but was his own choice.

The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, shows the boy speaking in front of the police, stating that he voluntarily underwent the circumcision and was not coerced in any way. In the same video, Mohsin, the hotel owner who had been accused along with two junk dealers, Murshid and Riyasat, denies any involvement in the boy’s conversion or circumcision, claiming he has wrongly been implicated.

The incident had originally come to light when the three men were arrested under accusations of forcibly converting the teenager and getting him circumcised. According to the complainant, the two junk dealers brought the boy from Azamgarh to Barabanki, where he was employed at Mohsin’s hotel. It was alleged that the boy was coerced into converting and circumcision while working at the hotel. Following the complaint, the police apprehended all three men.

However, the viral video has cast doubt on these allegations, with the boy’s statement suggesting that the circumcision was done willingly. This development has raised several questions about the real circumstances surrounding the conversion and the procedure, adding a layer of complexity to an already sensitive issue. The investigation is ongoing as authorities examine the new information emerging from the video.
