“Has Aadhaar Brought Down Terrorism”: Mamata Banerjee Attacks Centre

Mamata Banerjee has time and again criticised the decision of making Aadhaar mandatory.

KOLKATA (PTI) — West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday questioned the Centre for making Aadhaar compulsory for availing services, saying whether the decision has brought down the number of terrorists infiltrating in the country.

“They (Centre) have made Aadhaar compulsory for everything. But have they (Centre) with this decision been able to bring down the number of terrorists entering the country?” she asked.

Ms Banerjee has time and again criticised the decision of making Aadhaar mandatory and had said that linking of personal details with Aadhaar number was “dangerous” for individuals and society.
