NEW DELHI – Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a sudden and complete lockdown of the country in the context of the Covid spread, large numbers of daily wagers, labourers and others got stranded at their workplaces. There were others too who tweeted the chief ministers about the stranded people. NDTV journalist Vishnu Som tweeted to Delhi CM Kejriwal about the poor people in dire need of food.
Dear @ArvindKejriwal – A magician who lives at Kathputli colony called us asking for cash because of the desperate times. There are 2800 families here – puppeteers, acrobats, jugglers, singers and others who are daily wage earners and need your help fast. Many are going hungry.
