NEW DELHI – Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shrawan Mishra, along with his henchmen, has demolished the under-construction house of a CRPF jawan, Noor Kalim, beat up the labourers and workers and threatened to bury the soldier, in Shaikhpur village of Sultanpur district in Uttar Pradesh.
In a video clip surfaced on social media, the CRPF jawan was seen narrating his ordeal and appealing to the local administration to take action against the goons.
“I was constructing my house on a plot bought by me. However, around 1 pm on Friday, BJP leader Shravan Mishra, who is BJP’s Pramukh of Kadipur Block, came with a dozen of his supporters, some of them armed with guns and rifles, demolished the under-construction wall, broke down the pillars and severely beat up the labourers and mason. They also threatened to ‘bury’ me if I dared to construct my house here,” he said.

“I am a CRPF jawan posted in Kashmir. My three brothers and one nephew are in the Indian Army. I am a disciplined soldier. So, I did not retaliate to the unlawful act of Mishra. I have full faith in law and I demand the local administration must take strict action against those goons,” he added.
The CRPF jawan filed a complaint with the Gosaiganj police station. The police said that it has registered an FIR in the case.
Jawahar Nishad, a resident of the village who has a plot next to Kalim’s house, said that when he objected to the demolition of the house, Mishra put the gun tip on his forehead and threatened to demolish his house, too.
Reacting to it, human rights activist Rajiv Yadav said that incidents like this are happening because the police and the government had given a free hand to the Sangh leaders to do whatever they want, adding that the government was not taking action against them.
“The UP is being run by either RSS goons or the goons of the police. Such incidents keep happening in different parts of the state. But the police do not take action against them. They are constantly getting emboldened. You can see how these people make videos and upload them after lynching Muslims. This shows how emboldened they are. These emboldened and unbridled people do not see that the victim is a patriot armyman,” said Yadav.
Yadav cited the example of Assam where a former army officer Mohammed Sanuallah, who fought Kargil war for India, has been declared as foreigner. He said that the Sangh group has no value for any Muslim whatever contribution he was giving to India. These attacks on the Muslims are the implementation of anti-Muslim vision of the Sangh group.
