BEGUSARAI – Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) alumnus Kanhaiya Kumar, who is contesting the Lok Sabha election on the ticket of Communist Party of India (CPI), has support from many big faces of the Bollywood.

Poet-lyricist Javed Akhtar, actor Prakash Raj and many college students from the JNU shared the stage and campaigned for Kumar on Saturday. Actress Shabana Azmi and Swara Bhaskar also campaigned for him a few days back.

Campaigning for Kanhaiya, actor Javed Akhtar said, “Kanhaiya is all over in Begusarai. I am travelling across various locations. Many people have told me that they’re influenced by Kanhaiya Kumar. I believe Kanhaiya because I realise he is going to speak the truth.”

While actor Prakash Raj predicting victory for Kanhaiya said, “All of us are supporting Kumar because he’s the voice of the country. We all are here from different places in the country to show that Kumar is not alone. We are with him.”

Taking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Raj said: “We wanted a Prime Minister, not a Chowkidar. This government has no development agenda and they did not fulfill any promises.”

Three phases of elections are over in Bihar while the other four phases will take place on April 29, May 6, 12 and 19 respectively. The counting of votes will be done on May 23.
