BJP ‘Misusing’ Power to Destabilise Democratically Elected Govts: Kharge

Date:

Congress president said BJP's main aim is to create hatred among communities and divide them, but the Bharat Jodo Yatra is fighting these elements and will emerge victorious.

PANIPAT — Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that BJP was misusing power to destabilise democratically elected governments in several states through various means including misuse of ED and income tax.

Addressing a rally here on Friday, Kharge said, “No Prime Minister, no Home Minister has lied, they are lying, sometimes they say they will give 2 crore jobs, sometimes they promise to deposit Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s bank account. But these have all proved to be false.”

“The Congress party made so many governments but MLAs were lured and the BJP formed its own governments, and they talk of protecting democracy.”

He said BJP’s main aim is to create hatred among communities and divide them, but the Bharat Jodo Yatra is fighting these elements and will emerge victorious.

Addressing the same rally, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the Centre’s Agniveer scheme and said Haryana has become a champion in unemployment with no jobs for the youth.

Gandhi said earlier a soldier used to serve the country for 15 years and proper training and retirement benefits were given but now after four years, he will be unemployed.

He said Panipat was once a hub of medium manufacturers but now the situation has changed due to demonetization and GST; they were not policies but weapons to destroy small and medium enterprises.

Gandhi alleged that the country’s wealth was held by 200-300 people, and 90 per cent money was in the control of a few hands.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra is currently in Panipat in Haryana after this it will move to Punjab, Himachal and culminate in Jammu and Kashmir. — IANS
