Welfare Party Slams Nitish, BJP for ‘Rank Opportunism’

NEW DELHI — Welfare Party of India has slammed the formation of the new “Nitish Kumar-BJP government” in Bihar.  It dubbed the new government on Thursday as “politically unethical and contravention of people’s mandate” and asked the Nitish-Modi alliance to seek fresh mandate.

Reacting to the development, party president Dr S Q R Ilyas said Kumar and BJP have once again shown ‘rank opportunism’ by forming the government.

“The JDU-RJD-Congress grand alliance had taken people’s verdict and came to power in Bihar on strong anti-BJP and anti-Sangh sentiment and for a secular platform. It had given impetus to all non-communal forces across the country. He should have taken the opinion of at least his legislative members before going for such an unholy alliance. Nitish has proved beyond doubt that he is not a man of principles and values but behind power,” he said.

It is now well established that the hue and cry of corruption against Lalu and his son was part of a large conspiracy. The allegation that the Governors have turned into mere political tools has once again been proven with the developments taken place in Patna the other day. The Governor should be sacked to establish constitutional dignity,” Dr Ilyas added.
