MORADABAD — A disturbing incident has come to light where an indecent and threatening post against Badruddin, the coach of Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami, went viral on Instagram. The post, made by Deepak Chauhan, a resident of Bareilly, has sparked outrage as it contained insulting language and threats directed towards Badruddin, who is also the coach of cricketer Mohsin Khan.

Badruddin, a well-known figure in Moradabad for his role in shaping Shami’s career, responded by filing a formal complaint at the Civil Lines Police Station in Moradabad. The video, which gained significant attention online, showed Chauhan making derogatory remarks and issuing threats.

Mohsin Khan plays for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.

Explaining the situation, Badruddin revealed that Deepak Chauhan, was once his student. However, Badruddin emphasised that he has had no connection with Chauhan for several years.

“I did not want to take legal action initially,” said Badruddin. “But given the gravity of the situation and the potential for such incidents to repeat in the future, I felt it was necessary to inform the police. This individual has done something wrong, and he must face the consequences of his actions.”

The Moradabad police have initiated an investigation into the case. The viral nature of the post has prompted a swift response from the authorities, who are working to determine the full scope of the incident and take appropriate measures.

Badruddin, who has played a key role in the development of prominent cricketers like Mohammad Shami, expressed disappointment over the incident but reaffirmed his belief that justice will be served. “I’ve done my part by reporting this to the police, and now it is up to the authorities to handle the matter appropriately,” he added.

This incident highlights the growing concern over online abuse and threats on social media platforms, particularly against public figures. The case involving Badruddin serves as a reminder of the need for stronger measures to curb such behaviour and ensure the safety and dignity of individuals in the public eye.

The police have assured the public that they will take the necessary steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
