NEW DELHI  – #ModiSurrendersToChina started trending on Twitter yesterday after he claimed no intrusion happened at the Line ofActual Control in Ladakh at all party meeting (APM) on the escalation between the border security forces of India and China. The escalation reportedly took the lives of 20 Indian army jawans.

During the meeting PM Modi has reportedly denied the fact that Chinese forces entered the Line of Actual Control. “No outsider was inside Indian territory in Ladakh”, said Modi.

The Indian National Congress (INC) has started the hashtag over the statement claiming that the PM Modi has surrendered to China. The National President of Indian Youth Congress, Srinivas BV, retweeted Shen Shiwei commenting, “I am 100% Sure Now BJP can form a government in China too.”

The twitter handle of INC has circulated five questions from the government and Prime Minister in the video form. It displays, “1. If China did not intrude, did 20 jawans die in vain? 2. Is Galwan Valley not part of India Territory? 3.Why can’t PM answer about the Chinese intrusion between May 5 and June 15? 4. If chinese troops are not present in Indian territory, why is the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) harping on disengagement and de-escalation? 5.If there was no intrusion, then why did the Defence Minister said that Chinese forces were present “in large numbers”?”

The new developments have pushed the government into a deeper pit. The PM is now surrounded with the tough questions. “On one side we have the defence minister saying that there was a large build up of Chinese troops on the Indian side of LAC. Then we had the PM saying there was no intrusion. Who’s lying? I’m inclined to believe the DM more than the PM. What do you think? #ModiSurrendersToChina”.

Quoting the PM, a foreign news channel producer tweeted that the incidents happened in Chinese territory. “No outsider was inside #Indian territory in #Ladakh.” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi. @PMOIndia had an all- party meet called by him on Friday. The statement illustrates that the incidents happened in Chinese territory. #IndiaChinaFaceOff Flag of ChinaFlag of India #China #India”.

The thread includes old videos, pictures and memes of Narendra Modi preaching the methods of dealing with hostile neighbouring countries. A number of people have linked the PM’s speech with the investment of Adani and Ambani, the two corporate giants of India and friends with the PM. It is claimed that these two giants would be relieved today.

The Press Information Bureau (PIB India) of India came forward defending the PM’s statement and the alleged distortion of the speech.  TS Singh Deo, Cabinet Minister of Chhattisgarh, attached the tweets of PM Modi and of PIB, wrote on his twitter handle, “I have attached PM Modi’s own remarks on Galwan valley, tweeted by PMO yesterday. If anybody tried to create any confusion and undermine the sovereignty of India, it was the Prime Minister himself.”

The hashtag also had funny memes and cartoons. Someone wrote, “Amir khan is the second most popular actor in China, First is Surrender Modi”. The screenshot of ladakh scene from the 3 idiots movie was being circulated with the caption–This scene was shot in China.
