Three Muslim Brothers Kidnapped and Beaten Over a Minor Kite Dispute in UP

The incident raises serious concern; the police register case and began arrests

MUZAFFARNAGAR — A small dispute over kite flying turned into a serious case of violence in the Uttar Pradesh city of Muzaffarnagar, where a group of men allegedly kidnapped and beat up three Muslim brothers for hours on end.

The incident took place in Sujadu village under the Khalapar police station area on April 12. According to the police and family members, the victims — Muzammil, Mudassir and Mussavir — were targeted after a minor argument during kite flying.

Family members said the situation quickly became violent. “It started as a small issue, but they took our boys away and beat them badly for hours. We were terrified,” a relative said.

Videos Go Viral

Reports said the accused held the three brothers hostage and assaulted them brutally. Videos of the incident, now circulating on social media, show the victims stripped half-naked and being beaten with belts.

A resident said, “What happened was very disturbing. No one should face such treatment. The boys were helpless.”

The injured brothers were later rescued and admitted to the hospital by the police. Doctors said they had suffered serious injuries and needed medical care.

Named Accused and Police Action

Based on the complaint filed by the victims’ family, police registered a case under serious sections against Sahil, Aman, Umar alias Bhura and some unidentified persons.

Two accused — Sahil and Umar alias Bhura — have been arrested, while the remaining suspects are still absconding.

A senior police officer, Siddharth K Mishra, Additional Superintendent of Police, confirmed the action. He said, “Three boys were assaulted on the evening of April 12. An FIR has been registered under serious sections. Two accused have been arrested, and teams are working to arrest the others.”

He added, “Raids are being carried out, and all accused will be taken into custody soon.”

The incident has caused fear among Muslim families in the area, who say such attacks create insecurity in daily life.

A local community member said, “These are young boys. If they are not safe even in their own village, then where will they go? We want justice and protection.”

Another resident added, “This was not just a fight. They were taken away and beaten like criminals. Strict punishment is needed.”

Demand for Strict Action

Residents and family members have demanded strong legal action against all those involved. They said that such incidents must not be ignored and that the administration should ensure safety for minority communities.

Police officials have assured that the investigation is ongoing and that further arrests will be made soon.

For now, the three brothers remain under treatment, while their families wait for justice in a case that began with a minor dispute but ended in serious violence.
