NEW DELHI — In an extraordinary feat of linguistic talent and determination, 19-year-old Mahmood Akram from Chennai has taken the world by storm by mastering 400 languages. A prodigy who began his journey at an incredibly young age, Akram’s remarkable linguistic ability has earned him international recognition.

Growing up under the guidance of his father, a renowned linguist, Akram’s interest in languages was fostered early on. By the age of 6, he had already surpassed his teacher’s knowledge of languages, displaying an innate aptitude for learning. His passion for languages propelled him forward, and by the age of 8, Akram achieved a world record, becoming the youngest multilingual typist.

It wasn’t until he was 12, however, that Akram truly amazed the global linguistic community. Demonstrating fluency in 400 languages, he astounded a group of German linguists who had never witnessed such proficiency in a young individual before. Akram’s astonishing skills quickly garnered the attention of linguists, educators, and language enthusiasts around the world.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the diversity of languages and cultures,” Akram shared in a recent interview. “Languages are not just words, they are the bridge between people, and I believe mastering multiple languages allows me to connect with the world in ways most people cannot.”

At the age of 14, Akram took his passion to the next level by launching a YouTube channel to teach languages. His online lessons quickly attracted a global following, with students from different corners of the world seeking to learn from the young linguist. His teaching methods, which combine cultural insights and unique approaches to language acquisition, have made him a popular figure in the educational community.

By 2024, Akram had expanded his reach even further, conducting language workshops in several countries and sharing his expertise with thousands of students worldwide. His workshops, both online and offline, have become a platform for learners of all ages, allowing them to explore languages ranging from ancient dialects to modern-day tongues.

In addition to his linguistic achievements, Akram is also pursuing multiple university degrees, demonstrating his dedication to both his academic and personal growth. Despite his busy schedule, Akram continues to inspire others with his story of perseverance and intellectual curiosity.

“Languages are a gift, and I want to share that gift with as many people as possible,” Akram said. “The world is connected through communication, and I believe that by understanding each other’s languages, we can build a more harmonious world.”
