Alliance for Underprivileged Development hosts insightful discourse on education and innovation

NEW DELHI – A compelling talk on “Education and Technology: A Paradigm Shift” organised by the Alliance for Economic and Educational Development of Underprivileged this week drew a diverse audience of educators, entrepreneurs, and students in the national capital.

The May 26 event featured renowned speakers including Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah, Dr. Kavita A. Sharma, Shahid Siddiqui, Prof. Farqan Qamar, Javed Younis, and Syed Mahmood Akhtar, CEO of the alliance. Shahid Siddiqui commenced the proceedings with an introductory speech, followed by Lt. Gen. Shah, who welcomed the attendees and introduced the alliance’s mission.

Dr. Kavita A. Sharma and Prof. Farqan Qamar delivered brief speeches highlighting the pivotal role of technology in reshaping education. Javed Younis provided insights into the life and achievements of Sabeer Bhatia, who co-founded the first free web-based email service, Hotmail.com in 1996. It set the stage for the latter’s keynote address.

Bhatia captivated the audience with his vision for leveraging technology to revolutionise education, emphasising the imperative of innovation. He shared anecdotes from his entrepreneurial journey, inspiring aspiring innovators in the audience.

An interactive session ensued, allowing direct engagement between the audience and speakers. Participants posed a variety of questions, prompting insightful discussions led by Bhatia and fellow speakers.

The program culminated with a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation by Syed Mahmood Akhtar, outlining the alliance’s ongoing projects and future endeavours. The event served as a platform for meaningful discourse and collaboration towards advancing educational opportunities for the underprivileged.
