NEW DELHI — Following the complaint, Hassan district police have lodged a case against Pramod MutHalik, the founder of Sri Rama Sene, for allegedly delivering a hate speech at the Hindu Mahotsava event in Sakleshpur, Karnataka on January 9.

Pramod Mutalik and several others were booked under relevant sections of the BNS 2023 Act. The investigation is ongoing, according to a report published in The Hindu.

The complaint was filed by M.K. Sridhar, a constable from the Sakleshpur Town Police, on January 10. Sridhar alleged that Mutalik’s address at the event, held near Guruve Gowda Kalyana Mantapa, included statements intended to incite hostility between groups and provoke the audience.

According to the complaint, Mutalik urged attendees to boycott businesses owned by members of a specific community (read Muslims). He also encouraged the audience to keep weapons at home, actions perceived as attempts to disturb communal harmony.
