JABALPUR – A chilling murder case has gripped Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, as a Nagpur-based woman BJP member, Sana Khan, was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Amit Sahu alias Pappu (37). The accused confessed to the crime, revealing that he killed his wife due to monetary and personal disputes. The shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community and raised questions about personal safety.
The tragedy came to light when Sana Khan, a resident of Nagpur and a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s minority cell, went missing after leaving for Jabalpur on August 1 to meet her husband, Amit Sahu. Her mother Mehrunisha lodged a complaint, leading to an FIR against Sahu under IPC sections 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
As the investigation progressed, the Nagpur police, along with their counterparts in Jabalpur, discovered disturbing details about Sana Khan’s fate. Amit Sahu was apprehended from Jabalpur’s Gorabazar area on Friday, leading to a confession that shocked investigators. Sahu admitted to brutally killing his wife by striking her with a stick inside their residence. Subsequently, he disposed of her body by throwing it into the Hiran river from a bridge near Meregaon village.
The police’s search efforts are now focused on retrieving Sana Khan’s body from the river and its surrounding areas. Authorities are also actively seeking the apprehension of Sahu’s accomplice, who was present during the offense.
The accused, who operates a roadside eatery (‘dhaba’), claimed that the murder was motivated by a combination of monetary disputes and personal issues. Sana Khan’s tragic end has sent shockwaves through both the local and political communities, prompting calls for justice and a thorough investigation.
A joint operation between the Nagpur and Jabalpur police led to the arrest of Sahu and two others. They were brought to Nagpur for further legal proceedings, where they are set to appear in court on Saturday.
Sana Khan’s untimely demise has left a void in the political arena, where she was known for her role in the BJP’s minority cell. Her grieving family, along with the public, awaits the completion of the investigation to bring those responsible for this heinous act to justice.
