MUMBAI – Salim Khan, father of actor Salman Khan, on Wednesday received a new threat during his routine morning walk. While resting on a bench at Bandra Bandstand promenade, an unidentified man and a burqa-clad woman, who came on a scooter, approached 88-year-old Salim Khan and threatened him saying: “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bhejun kya? (should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?)
The two were captured in a CCTV camera and have been arrested.
Salim Khan’s bodyguard filed a complaint with the police and an FIR was registered. The accused have said they were just playing a prank, a police officer said.
The incident comes months after firing outside Salman Khan’s residence. On April 14, two men on a bike fired five rounds at the actor’s home in the metropolis. Police have said Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the firing and six people have been arrested.
Khan has told police that he believed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang carried out the firing intending to kill him and his family members.
A case in the matter has been logged at the Bandra Police Station, leading to the arrest of two individuals. A photo showing them on their two-wheeler has also emerged.
The police are now questioning the arrested suspects in connection with this threat to Salim Khan. Given the history of threats received by the Khan family, authorities are taking these incidents seriously to ensure their safety. The investigation continues as law enforcement works diligently to uncover more details about those involved in threatening Salim Khan. The focus remains on ensuring that such incidents do not occur again and that those responsible are accountable.
