PATNA – Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav on Friday demanded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to step down if he is not able to check the rise in incidents of mob lynching in the state.
Reacting over the brutal mob assault of two Muslim men for allegedly carrying meat in Rohtas district, leading to communal clashes, Tejashwi on Friday tweeted: “Again in My Bihar…Nitish Ji, What herculean task you are engaged with? Either Stop this nonsense or Step down…You can’t enjoy all the luxuries at the same time. Is this Why you betrayed the Mandate of 11 Crore Bihari’s in broad daylight?”
The incident occurred on Wednesday. As per media reports, a clash erupted between members of two communities in Rohtas after two motorcyclists were thrashed by a mob for carrying meat.
According to Sub Divisional Police Officer, Dehri, Mohd Anwar Javed Ansari, the trouble began when a crowd stopped the two motorcyclists in Akodhigola locality, while they were carrying meat for sale in Nasriganj area.
