NEW DELHI — Several Haj pilgrims including many women sustained grievous injuries when a group of Hindutva fanatics allegedly attacked their bus in Kota city of Rajasthan late on Wednesday.

The Hindutva goons forcibly stopped the bus carrying pilgrims on its way to the airport in Jaipur. They first started pelting stones at the bus and as the bus screeched to a halt the miscreants barged into it starting attacking the pilgrims indiscriminately, media reports reaching here said.

Besides assaulting the passengers, the group also caused damage to the bus.

In a video which has gone viral on social media, the pilgrims can be heard saying: “Hindu rightwingers barged inside the bus and upon finding that all those on board were Muslims, they started assaulting us.”

The pilgrims said they were also forced to raise “Jai Shri Ram” slogan. The Hindutva mob also allegedly threatened to abduct all young women travelers.

The police have started investigating the assault and several accused have been arrested, the video shared by the victims claimed.

Several instances of Muslims getting assaulted by Hindutva forces have been reported lately. Analysts feel hate speeches delivered by leaders of some Hindutva groups are acting as a catalyst for these attacks.
