NEW DELHI —  The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has said that the ongoing Gaza crisis is a pressing humanitarian issue, emphasising Israel’s oppressive actions against the original inhabitants of the region.

The meeting in Hyderabad on Thursday condemned Israel’s actions, stating that the United Nations Security Council has repeatedly called for the evacuation of occupied Palestinian territories, yet imperialist powers like the United States and Britain continue to support Israel, allowing its relentless occupation of Palestinian territories and inhuman treatment meted out to lawful residents.
The board strongly criticised Israel and its supporters, expressing disappointment in Muslim countries that have not taken significant steps to help the Palestinians. It also accused them of choosing silence in the face of extreme cruelty and oppressive tactics employed by the Zionist state.

The AIMPLB also called upon the Government of India to uphold its longstanding tradition of supporting the Palestinian cause. The board highlighted that leaders from Mahatma Gandhi to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and successive governments have consistently backed the Palestinians in their fight for freedom.
The current government was urged to maintain India’s historical position, emphasising that the Palestinian struggle is rooted in the quest for their freedom, not an agenda to occupy another country or oppress others.

During the meeting, the resilience, courage, and determination displayed by men, women, children, elders, and youth of Gaza were acknowledged and praised. The board applauded the global solidarity witnessed in support of Palestinians, commending the thousands and thousands of people who took to the streets worldwide, including within India, to stand with the oppressed people of Gaza.

The board extended an appeal to the Islamic World, urging collective courage and support for the oppressed Palestinian brothers during these challenging times. The plea emphasised that the Palestinians are fighting for truth, and standing in solidarity with the truth is both a human duty and an Islamic obligation.

As the global community grapples with the ongoing crisis in Palestine, the AIMPLB resolution underscores the importance of international unity in addressing humanitarian concerns and supporting the quest for justice and freedom in the region.
