JAIPUR — A one-month-old Muslim infant, Alisaba, was allegedly crushed to death during a police raid in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, triggering public outrage and protests outside the residence of the Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural, Alwar.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning in Raghunathgarh village under the Nowgaon police station area. Alisaba’s father, Imran, a daily wage labourer, said he was sleeping with his two children while his wife, Razida Khan, was resting with their infant daughter, wrapped in a blanket. At around 6 am, a police team entered their house without prior notice. Razida alleged that an officer crushed her baby’s head, killing her instantly.

“The police suddenly stormed into our house,” Razida told The Times of India. “I was sleeping on a cot with my newborn daughter when they picked me up and threw me out of the room. They also dragged my husband outside. Then, they crushed my baby’s head with their foot. This is outright murder, and I demand justice.”

Head constables Girdhari and Jagvir and constables Sunil, Rishi, and Shahid reportedly led the raid. When the police allegedly ignored the family’s plea for justice, angry villagers gathered outside SP (Rural) Alwar’s residence, demanding strict action against those responsible.

Area Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tejpal Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered against unknown police personnel. “The family has been assured of justice, and appropriate action will be taken against the culprits,” Singh stated. Following the FIR, Alwar SP Sanjeev Nain ordered the accused officers to be sent to police lines as an immediate measure.

Police sources claim the raid was part of an ongoing cybercrime operation. However, Imran Khan insisted that he has never been involved in online fraud. I have no connection with cybercrime. The police snatched my mobile phone during the raid and falsely implicated me,” he said.

Opposition leader Teka Ram Jolly condemned the incident, urging Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to take strict action against those responsible. “The police in Alwar are harassing the public in the name of cyber fraud,” Jolly said. “Raids are being conducted, and money is being extorted. I have raised this issue in the state assembly. The chief minister must intervene to ensure justice for the grieving family and prevent further harassment of innocent citizens,” he said.
