Locals claim involvement of right-wing elements, question police handling of the case

NEW DELHI — The brutal murder of a 50-year-old businessman, Haji Maksood, has sent shockwaves through the Madhya Pradesh town of Narsinghgarh. Maksood, a local crusher businessman, was found on Friday (20 June) with multiple deep cuts and injuries on his body and head, indicating a violent attack with sharp-edged weapons. A profusely bleeding Maksood was rushed to a government hospital from his plant in the town’s Gadia area, but he died during treatment.

The police have arrested some unidentified suspects, but have yet to establish the motives behind the gruesome murder, media reports said on Monday. An investigation team has been formed to look into all angles of the case.

The violent nature of the attack has sparked widespread outrage among residents, who protested with Maksood’s body on the streets, demanding swift justice. Markets were closed on Saturday in protest against the murder.

Locals have accused right-wing groups of involvement in the killing and are critical of the police for allegedly protecting them.

Media reports cited several locals questioning the police’s handling of the case and the authorities’ ability to ensure justice. The investigation is ongoing, and the community is eagerly awaiting answers.

The demand for justice is growing louder. As the investigation continues, many are hoping that the truth will be uncovered, and those responsible will be held accountable.
