Kaushambi Woman’s Death Under Scrutiny; Family Seeks Exhumation After Audio Surfaces

Date:

NEW DELHI — A case from Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district has taken a serious turn, with a young woman’s family seeking exhumation of her body for a post-mortem after new claims and an audio recording surfaced.

The incident occurred in the West Sharira police station area, where the woman died a few days ago under what were initially described as natural circumstances after being taken to a local hospital. She was buried without a post-mortem.

The case has since come under scrutiny after an audio clip, purportedly a conversation between the woman and a man identified as Shadab, began circulating. Citing this, the family has raised concerns over the circumstances leading to her death.

The woman’s younger sister has approached the district administration, calling for the body to be exhumed and a post-mortem conducted, describing it as “the last hope for justice.”

According to the family, the man had taken the woman to JK Hospital when her health deteriorated, where she later died during treatment.

In their complaint, the family has alleged that the man had promised marriage but later refused, causing severe distress. They also claim the audio recording تشير to a relationship and includes references to pregnancy and its termination.

“My sister was pushed into a situation where she lost hope. We want a fair investigation and strict action if anyone is found responsible,” the younger sister said.

The family has further alleged that key facts may have been concealed and has called for a thorough and impartial probe.

Police officials confirmed that an investigation is under way. A senior officer said action would be taken based on the complaint and available evidence. Authorities indicated that permission for exhumation and a post-mortem could be granted if required to establish the exact cause of death.

Officials are currently examining the audio clip and related evidence, with the findings expected to determine the next course of action.
