Israeli Warplanes Bomb Rantisi Pediatric Hospital in Gaza

GAZA –Palestinian journalist Younis Tirawi said Israeli warplanes bombed the 3rd floor of the Rantisi Pediatric Hospital in Gaza City.

In a post on X, he said: “The third floor is the pediatric cancer department. [There has been] huge damage.

“According to preliminary information, which is yet to be verified, there are dead. Documenting the scene for locals is challenging due to an internet blackout, but a few journalists are en route to the scene.”

The bombing was also reported by local news outlets Palestinian Hadath newspaper, Mayadeen, PA-run newspaper Haya Jadeeda and Quds network.

UN agencies call for immediate stop to exacerbating humanitarian crisis in Gaza

As concern grows at mounting casualties, the heads of all major United Nations agencies have issued a joint statement expressing outrage at the civilian death toll in Gaza and calling for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire”, AFP reports.

“For almost a month, the world has been watching the unfolding situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory in shock and horror at the spiralling numbers of lives lost and torn apart,” the UN chiefs said, including the heads of Unicef, the World Food Programme and the World Health Organization.

“We need an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. It’s been 30 days. Enough is enough. This must stop now.”

Israeli PM reiterates position on Gaza incursion, says to ‘continue until we win’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has remained firm on his position, vowing that “there won’t be a ceasefire until the hostages are returned”, AFP reports.

“Let them remove this from their lexicon. We are saying this to our enemies and to our friends,” the right-wing premier said after meeting troops.

“We will simply continue until we win. We have no alternative.”

Diary from Gaza: ‘There’s no time to mourn anyone or anything’

A World Food Programme member in Gaza details the horrors that she has been experiencing since Israel’s massive bombardment in retaliation to the Oct 7 Hamas attacks.

“Even as we try to ensure hungry, conflict-affected people have food, we ourselves have barely anything to eat,” she wrote on Oct 26.

Three days later, she said, “After tonight, I know I might count more dead family and friends than my hands could possibly embrace.”
