Hyderabad: Newly-Wed Muslim Doctor Couple Dies of Electrocution

HYDERABAD – In a tragic incident, doctor couple, who got married two months ago, died of electrocution at Khaderbagh area under Langerhouz police station limits in Hyderabad on Thursday.

26-year-old Syed Nisaruddin was a doctor working at Suryapet hospital and his 22-year-old wife Umme Mohimeen Saimah was a final year student pursuing MBBS at Deccan Medical college. Saimah was state topper in the intermediate exams. The couple was staying in an apartment in Khaderbagh area. 

According to Siasat.com, Abdul Ahad, the father of the girl, was trying to contact his daughter over the phone but there was no reply and he grew suspicious. He arrived at the flat and found that both Syed Nisaruddin and his wife Umme Mohimeen Saimah were lying dead in the bathroom.

The local police were alerted upon which a police team arrived at the spot and took up the investigation.

The police suspect that the woman had first sustained an electric shock from the geyser and while trying to save his wife Nisaruddin too sustained the shock. Both reportedly died on the spot.

The couple was associated with the Student’s Islamic Organisation (SIO) and Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO). The police have registered a case and an investigation is underway. 

Hyderabad unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has expressed condolences over their death.
