BIJAPUR — A young hijab-wearing school student has set an example of honesty after returning a bag containing a large sum of money she found on the road in Karnataka’s Bijapur district.

The student, identified as Salma, was returning home from school when she noticed a bag lying unattended on her way.

According to reports, the bag contained around three lakh rupees. Instead of keeping it, Salma immediately took the bag to the nearest police station.

She requested officers to ensure that the money was returned to its rightful owner.

Salma said, “It is our duty to return someone’s money safely to its owner.”

Police officials checked the bag in the presence of Salma and confirmed that it contained three lakh rupees.

Officers appreciated her action and described it as an example of honesty and responsibility.

A police official said, “Her act is commendable. She showed great integrity at a young age.”
