SC Upholds Death Penality For Nirbhaya Rapist

NEW DELHI (IANS) – Barely 12 hours ahead of the much-anticipated execution of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, a Delhi court on Friday directed the Tihar Jail authorities not to execute the death warrants issued against the convicts.

The execution was scheduled for Saturday at 6 a.m.

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana passed the order.

The execution was postponed till further order, the court said.
