Giriraj Singh Demands Closure of Madrasas in Bihar

Date:

PATNA – Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday made a controversial remark asking the Nitish government to close down all “illegal madrasas” in Bihar and claiming its increasing numbers at a fast pace is a “threat” to internal security of the state and the country.

Verification of over 3,000 madarsas in the state is mandatory as these places are being used for brainwashing youths, he claimed.

“Bihar houses a large number of illegal Madarsas. We need to undertake surveys of Madrasas on the lines of Uttar Pradesh. The illegal madrasas are used for brainwashing people of Muslim community. Organiaations like Popular Front of India (PFI) are flourishing here in these places,” Singh alleged.

“Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad are responsible for the surge in illegal madrasas as they practice appeasement politics,” Singh said. -IANS
