Gaza’s Khan Younis Under Israeli Attack Despite Claims of Resuming Ceasefire

Date:

GAZA — Israeli warplanes and artillery continue to hit southern Gaza’s Khan Younis city despite Israel’s claim that it returned to the ceasefire two days ago after violating it and killing over 100.

The Israeli military launched about 10 air strikes on Khan Younis in southern Gaza early on Thursday, including on the towns of Abasan al-Kabira and Bani Suheila, east of the city, injuring two people, local and medical sources said.

An Israeli air strike also destroyed the electricity company building in the town of Abasan.

Sources added the forces have been carrying out a demolition operation in Khan Younis itself.

The attacks came despite Israel’s assertion on Wednesday of a “resumption” of the ceasefire after a large wave of strikes during which more than 100 Palestinians were killed, including 46 children. — QNN
