NEW DELHI – In a significant development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a chargesheet against five individuals in the ongoing investigation into financial irregularities and money laundering within the Delhi Waqf Board. The accused include Zeeshan Haider, Javed Imam Siddiqui, Dawood Ansari, Kausar Imam Siddiqui, and the partnership firm Sky Power.

Following the submission of the chargesheet, the court has extended the judicial custody of all five accused until the next hearing scheduled for January 12. The ED’s investigation has been delving into the intricacies of the case, unraveling alleged financial discrepancies within the Delhi Waqf Board.

Of particular note is that three out of the five accused, currently in custody, are believed to have close ties to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan. Amanatullah Khan, who served as the President of the Delhi Waqf Board, has been at the center of the controversy surrounding the alleged financial mismanagement.

The ED initiated a series of raids on October 10 last year, conducting searches at five locations in Delhi as part of the investigation. Among the premises subjected to scrutiny was the residence of AAP Member of Parliament Amanatullah Khan, underlining the gravity of the allegations.

The court’s decision to extend the judicial custody indicates the seriousness with which the legal system views the charges brought against the accused. As the case progresses, it remains to be seen how the intricacies of the financial irregularities within the Delhi Waqf Board will unfold during subsequent hearings.
