NEW DELHI – Muslim organisations including Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) and All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM)have condemned the derogatory remarks made by Hindutva priest Yati Narsinghanand about Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be upon Him) describing them as “deliberate act of provocation.”

The remarks of Narshinghanand, who repeatedly makes hate speeches targeting Muslims and Islam, had caused massive outrage across the country after he called on Hindus to burn effigy of Prophet Muhammed (PUBH) on the occasion of Dushhera festival.

In a statement on Saturday, JIH Vice President Malik Motasim Khan said “These statements are not only deeply hurtful to millions of Muslims but are a deliberate act of provocation aimed at inciting communal tensions. Swami Narsingh’s repeated derogatory remarks are absolutely intolerable, and he must be immediately arrested by the authorities. Such evil people pose a significant threat to peace and law and order in the country. It is the duty of the government and the judiciary to act decisively and prevent such individuals from disrupting communal harmony.”

Khan pointed that these remarks reflect a deep moral and spiritual crisis that transcends mere insults. It exposes an irrational obsession with attacking Islam and its revered figures.

“It is imperative for leaders, intellectuals, and religious figures to rise against such vile remarks and defend the cultural and religious traditions, which are being tarnished by individuals who misuse religious platforms to spread hatred. This is not merely an issue of Muslims’ hurt sentiments; it is a collective challenge against the rise of religious radicalism that endangers societal peace and spiritual integrity,” he noted.

Addressing Muslims, the JIH Vice President said that the stature and dignity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cannot be diminished by the vile words of a few ignorant and despicable individuals.

“We should remain calm in the face of such provocation and should counter these provocations with wisdom, patience, and dignity. We urge the community to take meaningful steps to promote the teachings, ethics, and noble qualities of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in multiple languages, so that the true message of peace and compassion reaches every corner of the country. Only through such efforts can we hope to build a society rooted in mutual respect and harmony,” said the Muslim leader.

The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), federation of Muslim organisations, said that the derogatory remarks uttered by the foul-mouthed individual represent extreme provocation and are completely intolerable and it will create unrest in the country.

President of the AIMMM Feroze Ahmed, emphasised that the government must immediately arrest the serial offender.  Ahmad added that allowing him to roam freely is dangerous for peace and tranquillity/

“Such an individual has no place to roam freely in any civilised society and needs to be put behind bars. Psychopath Narsinghanand repeatedly causing deep offense to millions of people in the country and abroad, and his repeated nonsensical utterances are endangering peace and security in the country and creating bad image for the country across the globe,” he said.

The AIMMM president stated that Muslims believe in one God, and idol worship is considered a grave sin in Islam, yet Islam prevents its followers from insulting the holy figures of any other religion and does not allow the hurting of anyone’s sentiments.
