NEW DELHI – Chandra Shekhar Azad, leader of the Azad Samaj Party and the newly elected Lok Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh’s Nagina constituency, engaged in a significant meeting Friday evening with prominent Muslim religious leader Maulana Khalilur Rehman Sajjad Naumani at his residence in Lucknow. The meeting underscored Azad’s commitment to inclusive leadership and national progress.

“I congratulated Chandra Shekhar Azad on his electoral victory, affirming that his election reflects widespread support across all segments of society,” stated Maulana Naumani. “Observing Azad, I am optimistic that he can instigate positive changes in our nation.”

Commenting on the current socio-political landscape, Maulana Naumani highlighted the importance of unity among oppressed communities and the necessity for effective leadership rooted in constitutional values. “India stands at a critical juncture,” he asserted. “If oppressed communities unite under capable leadership and uphold the constitution earnestly, India can emerge as a global leader.”

Expressing concern over the state of minority representation in politics, Maulana Naumani emphasised the need for cohesive leadership that respects and represents all communities. “Muslims and the Dalits must consolidate their social and political influence,” he added. “The recent success in Nagina exemplifies the potential of the Muslim-Dalit alliance.”

Responding to these sentiments, Chandrasekhar Azad framed the recent election as a referendum on national priorities. “This election was about BJP versus the country,” he asserted. “The people’s verdict in Ayodhya underscores their desire for harmony and societal cohesion.”

In Ayodhya where an ostentatious Ram Temple has come up, the BJP suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Samajwadi Party nominee.

Azad criticised the BJP government’s handling of reservations and government jobs, accusing it of neglecting the interests of Dalits. “The BJP’s policies have sparked discontent among the Dalit community,” he stated. “This election result should serve as a wake-up call.”

Promising to champion issues such as educational irregularities and the rights of soldiers, Azad vowed to use his parliamentary platform to advocate for justice and equality. “I will highlight the NEET exam irregularities and the plight of our youth,” he affirmed. “The BJP must heed the people’s concerns.”
