Bihar: Muslim Youth Thrashed, Forced to Lick Spit; Police File Case After Video Goes Viral

Date:

MUZAFFARPUR — In a horrific incident, a young man in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur was brutally assaulted by a group of men inside a college campus, who also allegedly forced him to lick their spit.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media in which the bullies can be seen physically abusing the victim, Nabi Hasan, with a stick and a belt, and making him do sit-ups holding his ears.

A large crowd gathered to witness the attack. However, no one stepped in to stop the violence or help the victim, Vartha Bharati reported.

The report did not give any reason why the victim was targeted by the marauding group.

Meanwhile, Hasan’s family learned about the assault only after the video went viral on Facebook. His mother said the accused threatened to kill him at knifepoint, due to which he had kept quiet, as reported by NDTV on Sunday. But when asked about the video, he revealed everything about the incident and his mother went to the police.

The victim’s mother lodged a complaint and mentioned that her son had gone to Banaras Bank Chowk for household work when the accused allegedly cornered him and dragged Hasan to the ground. She said that her son kept pleading with them to stop the torture, but they refused, noting that they continued beating him and forced him to do sit-ups and lick spit, added the report. She further alleged that the accused snatched Rs 2,000 from him.

An FIR has been registered, but the accused are yet to be arrested.
