NEW DELHI – Qureshi Sheikh Sultan Salahuddin, a dedicated teacher at a Zilla Parishad Urdu School in Loni Kalbhor in Maharashtra’s Pune district, has been selected for the prestigious MG Patel National Award for Best Teacher 2024. The award, presented by the Sports and Education Association of Jaisinghpur, Kolhapur, recognises educators who have made exceptional contributions in the field of education across India.

Salahuddin, who has been an active graduate teacher for the past 19 years, has been honoured for his remarkable teaching performance, social work, and participation in literary and creative activities. His commitment to shaping young minds has earned him this esteemed recognition, which will be presented on 14 September 2024 at a grand ceremony in Jaisinghpur.

“Teachers are the foundation of society, and their dedication helps build the nations of tomorrow,” said Dr Akhtar Hussain Patel, President of the Sports and Education Association. “Mr Salahuddin’s work exemplifies the qualities we seek to honour with the MG Patel National Award for Best Teacher.”

The award ceremony is expected to be attended by notable figures, including Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj II, MP for the Hatkanangale constituency in Kolhapur, and Hasan Musharraf, a Cabinet minister in the state.

Reflecting on his achievement, Salahuddin expressed his gratitude, saying, “This award is not just a personal honour, but a recognition of the hard work and dedication of all teachers who strive to make a difference in their students’ lives.”

The MG Patel National Award for Best Teacher is given annually to educators who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, contributed to social causes, and engaged in literary and creative pursuits. The transparent selection process ensures that the most deserving teachers from across the country are recognised for their contributions.
