BHOPAL — A woman police officer was allegedly caught hold, slapped on the face, kicked on the stomach and harassed sexually – all in full public view – for stopping two men on a motorbike in Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh district on Monday, reports The Idian Express.

The Sub-Inspector had on Monday stopped a motorcycle for rash driving after it hit a child.

The incident happened at around 7 pm in Lidhora area on Monday, when the woman police officer was checking illegal and overloaded vehicles in the area. Suddenly she saw two men on a motorbike speeding after hitting a little girl with their vehicle. The man driving the motorbike was talking on cell-phone while driving when the vehicle hit the girl.

They were reportedly trying to escape from the scene.

The prime accused (riding the motorbike’s pillion) was not an ordinary man, but the president of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM), which is the youth wing of ruling BJP.

Upset at being stopped, Munendra Singh and his accomplice Pankaj lashed out at the officer, slapped and punched her and even tore her uniform before fleeing from the scene. But a police team nabbed Singh, Additional District Superintendent of Police Surendra Jain said, IANS reports.
