NEW DELHI — Senior BJP member and Union Minister for road and surface transport, Nitin Gadkari, on a Marathi TV channel show, aired recently, revealed the logic behind tall claims and promises made during 2014 general elections.

“We were very confident that we would never come to power, so we were advised to make tall claims,” said Gadkari during the show, reports TOI.

“Now that we are in power, the public reminds us of those promises made by us. However, these days, we just laugh and move on.”

Gadkari’s statement verifies the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to put Rs15 lakh in the bank account of every indian, if comes to power.

His statement on the show also confirms that BJP won the 2014 Parliamentary elections on the basis of unrealistic promises only.

Nitin Gadkari’s comments will definitely cause BJP much embarrassment giving the Opposition ammunition to criticise Modi government for having made “tall claims.”

The Opposition Congress was quick to respond saying that Gadkari has proved that the BJP government was “built on jumlaas and fake pomises.”

The Congress president Rahul Gandhi also tweeted Gadkari’s video, saying in Hindi: “You are right. Even the people now started thinking that the government used their aspirations and faith for satisfying party’s needs.”
