NEW DELHI – The wait is finally over for the over 1.14 lakh students who appeared for the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Board exam. Results were announced on Friday for the Munshi/Maulvi (Secondary Persian and Arabic), Alam (Senior Secondary Persian and Arabic), Kamil, and Fazil exams for the year 2024. These examinations, conducted at 509 centres across the state in February, were also webcasted from the Lucknow headquarters.
Out of 141,115 registered students, 114,723 appeared for the exams, with 101,602 candidates successfully passing. The number of girls who passed stood at 52,348 (90.3%) as they outperformed boys with 49,254 (86.7%) acing through, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 88.5%.
Madrasa Board Chairman Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed Javed expressed his pride and satisfaction over the results. “The students have demonstrated remarkable dedication and hard work. I congratulate all the successful candidates for their achievements,” he said.
Several students stood out with their exceptional performances. Asad Khan Warsi from Jhansi achieved significant success in the Maulvi (Secondary) category. Rehan Raza from Kannauj and Mohammad R.N. Siddiqui excelled in the Kamil rank, while Gulfashan from Sitapur distinguished herself in the Fazil category.
Dr. Javed further added: “The excellent performance of the girls, who have outperformed the boys, is particularly noteworthy. Their success is a testament to their perseverance and the supportive environment fostered by the madrasa education system.”
