NEW DELHI — In a shocking incident, two men, including Noor Mohammad, a Muslim company owner, were kidnapped on March 1 in Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The Baghpat Police swiftly acted and arrested four persons and recovered firearms, cartridges, and a vehicle from the accused.

Baghpat District Superintendent of Police, Arpit Vijayvargiya, confirmed on Monday that the kidnapping of Noor Mohammad, a Muslim businessman, and his associate Shavez, took place on their way to Noida. The victims were held hostage for over 24 hours before the captors contacted their families and demanded a ransom of ₹2 crore for their release.

“The kidnappers made calls to the family, demanding ₹2 crore as ransom, threatening to kill the victims if the money was not paid,” said Vijayvargiya. The case was reported by Bilal, a resident of Patti Chaudharan, on the same day at Barot police station. Upon receiving the complaint, the police quickly launched a search for the victims, tracking the mobile number from which the ransom demand was made.

Within just one day, the police secured the release of Noor Mohammad and Shavez. “We were able to safely recover the victims, and four suspects —Shivam, Rajat, Pradyumna, and Vijay — were arrested,” Vijayvargiya added.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that Shivam and Pradyumna had worked at Noor Mohammad’s company, MCS Services, located in Sector 90, Noida. The kidnappers, along with their associates Rajat, Vijay, and others, had meticulously planned the abduction.

The police are actively searching for the other individuals involved in the crime. “We are committed to apprehending the remaining suspects soon,” Vijayvargiya said.
