NEW DELHI – Zee News Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhary being invited to an event in the United Arab Emirates has sparked protests. In recent days, a number of people have tweeted expressing anger at the organisers, the Abu Dhabi Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for inviting him to their ‘Annual International Seminar’ on November 25-26.
“How dare you invite an Islamophobe to my peaceful country,” asks UAE princess and philanthropist Hend Bint Faisal Al-Qasmi.

ICAI is India’s largest professional accounting body which comes under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
“Sudhir Chaudhary is a Hindu rightwing anchor known for his deeply Islamophobic shows that target India’s 200 million Muslims. Many of his prime time shows have directly contributed to real world violence against Muslims across the country,” Princess Hend says in another tweet.

In yet another tweet, she says, “In 2019 & 2020, Sudhir Chaudhary ran shows on Zee News where he spewed venom against Muslims for leading anti-citizenship protests. He ran fake stories, targeting Muslim students and women for leading the citizenship protest in Shaheen Bagh, New Delhi & other parts of the country.”

The UAE princess has been joined by several others in opposing the invitation to Chaudhary.
Not just the UAE princess, there are others too who have raised objections to the invitation to Chaudhary. “Hindu right-wing anchor Sudhir Choudhary, known for his anti-Muslim hate & bigotry is one of the main speakers at an event in Abu Dhabi next week. Why are you allowing dangerous Islamophobes in UAE?” asks journalist Raqib Ahmed Naik in a tweet which he has tagged to a number of UAE officials including Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed Bin Zayed.

Another twitterati Nusaybah says, “it is disturbing that a pro-genocide anchor who deviously crafted the term “Corona Jihad” & continues to demonize Indian Muslims, was invited in the first place!”
He also asks the organisers if they have cancelled the invitation: “Can you confirm the removal of Sudhir Chaudhary as a speaker at the 33rd Annual International Seminar?”
