UAE Discusses Medical Cooperation with Senegal’s Ambassador Sylla

ADU DHABI – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health of the United Arab Emirates Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama has met with Ibrahima Sory Sylla, Senegal’s ambassador to the UAE, and discussed ways to develop medical cooperation, WAM reported.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the ministry of health and was attended by Dr. Essa Ahmed Al Mansoori, director of the under-secretary’s office and international relations office where the parties discussed the possibility of providing the necessary health services for Senegal.
During the meeting, Al Olama discussed his country’s experience in developing health care services, medical tourism, depending on the structure of modern health facilities, and the eligible legalization for the participation of the private sector in developing the services quality.

The parties also discussed ways to attract Senegalese medical workers to meet the rising demand of the government and the private health institutions within the current context of the growth of the health sector and the pursuit of international medical companies to enter the arena of competition in the UAE.

The Senegalese ambassador raised the subject of the national immunization programme to fight malaria, which kills many people in several African countries and the efforts exerted by the medical authorities in Senegal to fight this disease.

Sylla expressed also his country’s desire to activate bilateral relations with the UAE in all fields, particularly the health sector, calling to encourage UAE investments in Senegal to develop medical facilities, stressing the availability of appropriate facilities and qualified staff to do so. — SM/IINA
