WASHINGTON – The United States has authorized the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipment for precision bombs to Israel as the country bombs Gaza after last month’s Hama attacks, reported The Daily Wire.

The Biden administration sent the formal notification to Congress on October 31 of its authorization to allow the sale of $320 million worth of Spice Family Gliding Bomb Assemblies, which are weapons kits that turn unguided bombs into precision guided bombs, to Israel. The order comes on top of another order for the same kits that was valued at over $400 million that the Trump administration sought congressional approval for in 2020.

The Israeli-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is purchasing the equipment directly from Rafael USA, an American company that has ties to Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and not through the U.S. government.

The weapons transfer comes after Hamas launched an attack on October 7, leaving 1,400 Israelis dead, wounding 5,300+, and kidnapping more than 240.

Israel has responded to October 7 attack by launching ferocious bombing campaigns inside Gaza. Israel later began its ground operations inside Gaza.

The precision kits will go on the bombs currently in Israel’s arsenal — mostly 1,000- and 2,000-pound bombs which are among the largest and most powerful used by any military in the world, according to a report from The New York Times.
