NEW DELHI — Ashraf Adam Mulla from Pune has dedicated her life to uplifting the underprivileged through education and social welfare initiatives. As the founder of Muslim Samaj Parbodhan Sanstha, she has relentlessly pursued her vision of providing modern education and support to marginalised communities.

Mulla has now embarked on a new mission: the establishment of a charitable hospital to address the pressing healthcare needs of the less fortunate.

Born in Pune on December 9, 1946, Mulla has spent nearly four decades striving to equip disadvantaged individuals with the tools they need to thrive in society. Her journey began in 1985 when she founded the Muslim Samaj Parbodhan Sanstha, driven by a deep-rooted desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Over the years, she has tirelessly worked to establish schools, colleges, and vocational training centres, providing essential learning opportunities to thousands of children and youths from impoverished backgrounds.

However, Mulla’s altruistic endeavours extend beyond the realm of education. In 1998, she established Ashiana, an orphanage for girls, providing a nurturing environment for those without familial support. With unwavering dedication, she ensures that the residents receive not only education but also essential life skills and Islamic teachings, preparing them for a brighter future.

Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, including financial constraints and societal resistance, Mulla remains undeterred in her pursuit of social justice and equality. She recalls the initial setbacks she encountered in her efforts to empower widows, lamenting the reluctance of many to embrace change. However, she persevered, redirecting her focus towards education and empowerment, laying the foundation for a lasting legacy of compassion and resilience.

Mulla’s latest undertaking, the establishment of a charitable hospital, symbolises her unwavering commitment to serving humanity, even in the face of personal adversity. Despite a recent setback due to a temporary injury, she remains steadfast in her resolve to realise her lifelong dream. Undeterred by age or physical limitations, she continues to work tirelessly towards her goal, driven by a sense of duty and compassion for those in need.

In a recent interview with Clarion India, Mulla expressed optimism for the future. “I have no time to waste. There is still a lot of work to be done,” she said. Her tireless dedication and unwavering spirit serve as a source of inspiration for all who encounter her, reaffirming the belief that one individual’s determination can indeed make a profound difference in the world.
